Ionizing Radiation Source
The source of ionizing radiation (IRI) is an object that contains radioactive material, or a technical device that emits or is capable of emitting ionizing radiation under certain conditions. To date, the use of IRS has become a common thing in science, technology and medicine. The scope of their use is constantly increasing. In this connection, the problem of safe utilization of IRS is one of the key problems in the framework of the issue of environmental protection.
There are several devices related to IRS, but their disposal must be subject to general rules. The following is dangerous equipment:
- diagnostic X-ray machines;
- devices for technical control;
- X-ray flaw detectors;
- neutron generators;
- X-ray tubes
- tomographs, etc.
